Obituary of Monica M. Hood

Monica M. (Wheeler) Hood, age 83 of Jeffersonville PA, died Friday (1/11) in the Phoenixville Hospital hospice Unit. She was a retired Sales Associate, for Wannamakers And Strawbridges Dept. Stores Mrs. Hood was born in Norristown, PA, the daughter of the late Stephen and the late Ruth Delaney Wheeler.Wife of the late James J. Hood. Mrs. Hoood was long time active member of Visitation BVM Church in Trooper and was a member of their Womens Guild. She was an avid reader and Big Five College Basketball fan. For many years she enjoyed traveling to Ocean City NJ with her family and also enjoyed traveling with her late husband and many friends. She always was involved with her grandchildrens activities never missing a sports game or show and will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends. She is survived by two daughters: Sue Fretz (Bill) of Parker Ford, PA, Ann Quigley (Joe) of Havertown, PA two sons: Jim Hood (Helen) of Malvern, PA, Dan Hood of Jeffersonville, PA two sisters: Joan Schmitz of Norristown, PA, Terri Falco of Eaglevile, PA one brother: Steve Wheeler of Norristown, PA 13 Grandchildren, ,she was predeceased by a son Thomas. Friends may call Wednesday 1/16/13 from 9-10AM at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N.Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Norristown. Contributions may be made to Pulmonary Rehab. Dept. of Phoenixville Hospital,C/O Trudi Albitz 140 Nutt Rd.Phoenixville,Pa. 19460. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
