I just learned of Frank's death through Chemical and Engineering News. Frank hired me as a laboratory technician at the General Electric Company in Erie, Pa in 1959, my first professional job after graduating from Erie County Tech in Buffalo, NY. He was a wonderful boss, always challenging me to get involved in new technologies and projects and was respected by all my coworkers in the lab (Chemical & Insulation lab in Bldg. 9.) With Frank's encouragement, I took a leave of absence, returning to Kansas State for a BS in chemistry before returning to the GE lab and finally obtaining a Ph.D in Polymer Science from Akron University. I owe so much to Frank's encouragement and interest in my professional development. He was a good man.
