Obituary of Margaret Yearsley
Margaret Yearsley of Plymouth Meeting, Pa, passed into eternity peacefully on Thursday, November 14th at the Lancaster Mennonite Home where she resided. Margaret was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 16, 1928, to Sydney and Margaret Sprinkle.
Margaret was the devoted and loving wife of the late William J. Yearsley, of Plymouth Meeting, whom she was married to for 54years. She was the loving mother to their four children, James Yearsley (Robyn), Wendy Compton (Peter), Peggy Barton (Scott), and Peter Yearsley. She was also dearly loved as“Gran” by her twelve grandchildren, and was “G.G.”, great grandmother, to 32 great grandchildren. Margaret was the sister of the late Sydney Curwen Sprinkle, and is survived by her sister, Shirley Sprinkle Blood and her sister in law, Ruth Yearsley Williams.
Margaret grew up in Marion, VA, and graduated from Marion High School. She was a 1949 graduate of Beaver College, known as Arcadia College today. Margaret was an active member of the Plymouth Meeting Evangelical Congregational Church, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a member of the Arcadia Alumnae Association, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and a tutor to immigrants needing to learn how to read English. Margaret loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus, and reflected His lovingkindness through her dedication to her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plymouth Meeting Evangelical Congregational Church, 42 E. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Rd., Roslyn, PA 19001 on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11 am.
