Mary E. (Mullahy) Kehoe Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 17, 19 21 Departed on November 7, 2019 Resident of Ambler and Conshohocken

MARY ELIZABETH (MULLAHY) KEHOE Mary Kehoe was born on October 17, 19 21 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of George

Henry and Madeline (Curran) Mullahy. After a brief illness, she passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Einstein Medical Center in East Norriton, PA, at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her brothers: Thomas F. Mullahy, George H. Mullahy, Jr., and John J. Mullahy as well as her loving husband, Francis X. Kehoe of Conshohocken in 1986.

Mary grew up in Ambler and was a 1939 graduate of Ambler High School, faithfully continuing to meet her fellow classmates at both official and yearly reunions up to 2019. Additionally, she earned a B.S. in Medical Technology at Temple University in 1943 and worked for many years in the lab at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia as part of the research and tuberculosis treatment team. Following her marriage to Frank Kehoe in September, 1957, Mary devoted herself to homemaking with the same intelligence and attention to detail that she lavished on her lab work. Then, much later, while Mary was in her 80s, these same qualities, as well as a commitment to serving the health care needs of the community, were in much demand as she worked behind the pharmacy counter at the Thrift Drug on Ridge Pike in Conshohocken.

Throughout her life Mary was devoted to the Catholic faith as well as to her extended family. She was a faithful member of St. Philip’s church in Lafayette Hill for more than sixty years. And while she did not have children of her own, Mary has been the go-to organizer, holiday hostess, “second-Mom” and matriarch of the extended Mullahy and Kehoe family for nearly sixty-five years. She loved nothing more than to gather her family and friends together at her long, beautifully set table at any and every holiday. She loved to nurture all within her circle with her delicious dinners, festive picnics and informal tea parties. Her amazing devotion, festive spirit and creativity were instrumental in fostering and maintaining the continuity of family celebrations touching five generations. Mary reveled in celebrating her Irish heritage at her annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration, and as a “hostess with the most-ess,” Mary was without peer. Caretaking and service to her family, including her mother and husband in their time of infirmity, was the main focus of her life.

Mary was also a keen doll collector and noted needlewomen, famous for her creative sewing and intricate crochet work. She kept a beautifully organized and decorated home where she and her husband Frank loved to entertain. Surviving Mary are her sister-in laws, Lena Zaffarano Mullahy of Ambler, PA; Maria (Mullahy) Yerger (David) of Lititz, PA; Ann (Mullahy) Reid (David) of Pequea, PA; Michael Mullahy (Belinda) of Royersford, PA; Thomas P. Mullahy (Joan) of Tacoma, WA; Brian Mullahy (Becky) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Nancy Mullahy of Miami Beach, Fla.; Mark Mullahy(Susan) of Harrison, New York; Maureen (Mullahy) Cervenka (Craig) of Delafield, WI; as well as great- nephews Nicholas Nasobkow of Lansdale, PA; Molly Mullahy (Jordan Dillard) of Philadelphia PA; Theresa Yerger of NY, NY; Nathan Yerger of Lititz, PA, Stephen Mullahy of Royersford, PA; Kelly Mullahy of Raleigh, NC; Joseph White of Lititz, PA; Matthew Mullahy and Meagan Mullahy, Salt Lake City, UT; Reece Mullahy and Jordan Mullahy, Harrison, NY; Katie Mullahy and Sean Mullahy, Delafield, WI, as well as her great-great nephew Conrad Dillard of Philadelphia,PA.
