Obituary of Dorothy Doran

Mabel Dorothy Doran, 99 years, of Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday October 5, 2019 at Keystone Hospice.

She was born on Sunday January 25, 1920 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late James and the late Effa (née Staley) Doran.

Dorothy lived her whole life on Hermitage St. in Roxborough and was a long time member of Leverington Presbyterian Church where she had served as a deacon. She also enjoyed particpating in the Sunday school, Bible study and Shepparding programs at church. Charitable work was a big part of Dorothy's life as she was involved with the Salvation Army's Forever Young Club in Roxborough, volunteered with the 21st Ward Meals on Wheels and in charge of the Good Samaritan Program. She loved her gardening and was the President of the Ladies Hannah Circle.

Dorothy is survived by her nieces and nephew and grand nieces and nephews.                               

Dorothy's Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Oct 10 at 11:00 AM at Leverington Presbyterian Church 6301 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct 10 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church before the service

Mabel's Interment at George Washington Memorial Park 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting
