Obituary of Jeanette A. MacFarland

Jeanette A. MacFarland (née Bishop), passed into Eternity on Monday morning, June 10, 2019. June 10th was also Jeanette’s 86th birthday. She was the sixth of seven children born to the late Russell and Jenny Bishop (née Andrews) of Lansdale, PA. Jeanette met Charles (Charley) H. MacFarland, then of Mt. Airy, PA, in 1959 and they were married on February 6, 1960. 

She is survived by her two children Beverly Chapin (Harold III) of Norristown, PA and Wayne MacFarland (Kimberly) of Telford, PA; her five grandchildren Emily Chapin, Megan Wilwert (Alex), Abby Chapin, Harry Chapin, and Aimee MacFarland; and her first great-granddaughter, Auden Jane Wilwert. Jeanette is also survived by her brother, Robert (Bob) Bishop of Hatfield, her sister-in-laws Irene Bishop of Souderton and Sue Fox of Harleysville and many nieces & nephews. 

Jeanette was a member of Grace Mennonite Church of Lansdale, PA while a young adult and served as a member of Plymouth Meeting Evangelical Congregational Church for over 50 years. Jeanette loved to serve people and make them feel at home. She was also “Nanny” to many people who knew her. 

Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved Charley; sisters Mary and Dorothy (Dot); brothers Willard (Bill), Russell (Russ) and Kenneth (Kenny). 

Jeanette’s funeral service will take place on Friday, June 14th at 11 A.M. at Plymouth Meeting E.C. Church (42 E. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462) with the burial immediately following the service. Jeanette’s family will be receiving guests between 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Plymouth Meeting E. C. Church. Her family wishes to thank the MICU nurses & doctors at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the Towamencin Police Department, and her local Volunteer Fire & EMS personnel.
