Obituary of Harold J. Mayfield
PLYMOUTH MEETING Harold Mayfield, age 87, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Harold was born in Philadelphia, PA, and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. Harold joined the Army where he actively served abroad during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge at the rank of corporal. He spent his 50-year career as a tire salesman with McCleery Tires,where he always met his customers with a smile. He was an avid golfer, often fashioning custom clubs in his home workshop for himself and friends. Harold loved laughter, good food, and spending time with friends and family, especiallywhile playing cards. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Grace V. (Shields), and his son, John. Harold is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Bateman (Kenneth); daughter, Eileen Mayfield; daughter, Colleen Rauscher (Robert); son and best friend, Michael; daughter, Maureen Keenan (William); 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 17th, 2019 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3035 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462, with Rev. Joseph J. Quindlen presiding. A visitation with family will precede the mass from 9:30-10:45 am at Epiphany of Our LordChurch. Burial will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
