Cruickshank, Dorothy (McCurdy) aged 91, of Roxborough, Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 08, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Music was her passion and she sang until the end.
She was born to Hazel (Mackay) and John Boyd McCurdy on October 2, 1921. A graduate of Germantown High School, Dorothy was married to Frank Bickley Cruickshank in 1942. She is survived by two children, Annie (Robert Holt) of Clarklake, MI; and Christopher (Teressa) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Lynn Springer (Ernie Scramuzza) of Lake Ariel, PA. and Kathryn Springer (Louie Mondragon) of Bakersfield, CA; great grandchildren Robert Scramuzza, Megan Mondragon, Joshua Mondragon, Kathryn Mondragon, and step great grandson Nicholas Scramuzza. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bickley Cruickshank; her sister, Marjorie McCurdy Venzie; her son Peter (Brooke) of Wilmington, DE and her great grandchild Katelyn Mondragon. Cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private Celebration of Dorothy's life at a later date.
