I knew Steve through bowling (surprise ! ). It is a sport we both enjoyed and while we never bowled together, we shared a commonality of being students of the game. I know that sounds silly and perhaps nerdish but we enjoyed each other's company because we shared the nuances and finer points as to what makes one bowler better than another, the way to play a particular pair of lanes' and in general things that would totally bore a person outside our numerous conversations. It was a great pleasure to receive his wisdom and his tolerance of my ideas. I will really miss him and will remember him always. We all lost a neat guy! Dave.

Our condolences to the family and friends of Steve Brown.
Steve was quite a guy. He was a splendid athlete and in his youth excelled in both baseball and bowling. In bowling, he even became a Junior National Champion. Sports was only one of Steve’s passions, among his other passions were coaching, politics, history, family and friends.
I met Steve through Junior bowling as he was present at many of the local junior league matches at Facenda-Whitaker Lanes and the tournament matches of Chuck Pezzano’s Junior Bowling Tour and Matt Himmelreich’s Pennsylvania JBT. I was chauffering all three of my kids to these events and Steve was usually there scouting and coaching the young bowlers. He was always on the lookout for someone with talent and was free with his advice. Steve and I spent many weekend mornings for several years conversing and exchanging stories. He was a very talkative guy and had a large supply of interesting stories. We were about the same age and got along pretty well. Inevitably, my kids aged out of Junior bowling and I hadn’t seen Steve for a few years.
Steve was a veteran and had served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He also spent many years working with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring several years ago.
Steve was a wonderful friend and anyone who knew him will miss him, but he will live on through the cherished memories we all have of him.

Stephen’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

My heart aches for Pat, Donna, Laurie, Marc, John, Joseph and 'all' who are feeling the pain of their loved ones loss. Steve was my Brother-in-Law. I'll always remember those Christmas morning phone calls, talking with everyone on the phone (Pennsylvania to Massachusetts). I'll remember our visiting each other. Steve loved his family, each and every one. Steve enjoyed bowling very much and was so good at it! He loved conversation....about anything and everything, and always had a smile on his face. May Our Lord hold Steve closely (an extra hug from his wonderful family), and I pray Our Lord comforts his loved ones who are missing him, hurting, and will always love him, may He comfort them in only a way that He can....Amen. My Love & Prayers to each of you, Diane (Aunt Diane) XOXO

Stephen was a wonderful, kind and loyal man. I have known Stephen for the last 8 years and always loved hearing his newest stories of his adventures from long ago. He will be missed by his family and most of all his dearest wife Pat who is just an sweet as Stephen and very much the devoted wife and mother. Recently meeting both his daughter Donna and son Mark has shown me what a great father Stephen was to his children whom he spoke very highly of at all times. He will be dearly missed by anyone who knew him.
