Obituary of Dolores P. Racette
Dolores ‘Dodie’ Patricia Racette (nee Marlin), 88, of Lafayette Hill, passed away Saturday on March 9, 2019. Dodie was born in Germantown to John and Sarah Marlin on July 3, 1930. She grew up with 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
In addition to her loving husband, George, of almost 63 years, she is survived by her children Marian Racette, Paul Racette ( Meg Gruwell), Theresa AlDamlouji (Zaid) and Frances Racette; her seven grandchildren Zina AlDamlouji, Emily Wilkinson (Marshall), Ali AlDamlouji, Jacob Herrin, Theo Herrin, Devin Racette and Galen Racette; and her sister, Sarah Cummins.
Dodie graduated from Little Flower High School and took courses at St. Joseph’s University. For Dodie, family was central to life. She nurtured relationships with her many nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and children’s friends. She had a heart for listening, caring and praying for all and she loved life.
Dodie was an avid bridge player, reader and a devoted member of St. Philip Neri. After retirement, Dodie and George traveled extensively.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Mar 15 from 11:00 AM at Saint Philip Neri Church 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill.
A Viewing for Dodie will be held on Thursday, Mar 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lownes Family Funeral Home 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill.
The following morning Viewing will be held on Friday, Mar 15 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Saint Philip Neri Church 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill before the funeral Mass.
Dolores's Interment will follow the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery 199 Old Gulph Rd.
