Obituary of Catherine Theresa Wagner

Please share a memory of Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Catherine Theresa (Conroy) Wagner, age 92 and mother of 12 children, passed away on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2019.  For the past 17 years, since 2002, she was a resident of Meadowood Senior Living, a wonderful senior community located in Worcester, Pennsylvania.

Catherine had always spoken very highly of all the friends she made and the excellent care that she received at Meadowood.  During her transition, she was kept very comfortable by all of the staff, the Hospice nurses and aides, and the attending personnel.

Catherine was born in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia on May 20, 1926, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Conroy.  She is survived by her only remaining brother Charles of Philadelphia, PA, and her 10 children in chronological order: Christian T. IV of Gladwyne, PA, Robert P. of Lake Ridge, VA, Thomas C. of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Stephen F. of Rising Sun, MD, Eric R. of King of Prussia, PA, Anne M. of Reading, PA, Elizabeth A. of Folsom, PA, Richard F. of Lone Tree, CO, Marge M. of Columbia, PA, and Trish A. of North Wales, PA.  Also remaining are 16 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

During her younger years, prior to her marriage, she was a pianist with the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra.  She was a very accomplished musician.  Soon afterwards, she met her husband, Christian Theodore Wagner III.  They moved from the Philadelphia area to Spokane, Washington, where the first 3 children were born: Chris, Bob, and Tom.  After a few years, the couple moved back to the east coast, and stayed in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia where Steve and Frank were born.  Shortly afterward, they moved to Runnemede, NJ, where Eric, Anne, Liz, and Rick were born.  As the house started getting too small for the expanding family, another move was made to Conshohocken, PA.  Here Karen, Marge, and Trish were born.  That was the culmination of this growing family.  Unfortunately, Karen L. passed away in 1965, about 18 months after her birth and Francis X. passed away from cancer long after moving to Conshohocken, in 1990.

After a number of years, Christian and Catherine moved to his parents house in Lafayette Hills, PA.  Sadly Christian passed in 1996. Catherine lived on in the house for another 6 years until she moved to Meadowood.  The remainder of her life was spent in very wonderful surroundings of like-minded people, sincere friendships, and a healthy living environment.
