Obituary of Carmella M. Rizzo
Carmella Mary Rizzo was born July 25th, 1916 during World War I. One of four daughters and three sons, the third in sequence of birth. The daughter of first generation Americans , she was exposed to the meaning of earning her station in life. Her family unit was a composite of a family working as one to progress while appreciating the value of individuality. These attributes no doubtedly created the foundation for the attraction and marriage to young, Frank L Rizzo on April 18th, 1942, whose drive and determination preceded him. Early on Francis S. was born in 1943 followed by his sister, Joanna E. in 1950. The attributes of family and respect embodied her family guidance until July 15th, 2018. She encouraged these values daily until her death only one day short of the 27th anniversary of Frank L. Rizzo’s death. She was consistent and dignified as first lady of Philadelphia, and loved and admired by so many. She should be admired as an example of a woman who always stood by her principles, encouraging and loving others. ,especially her husband and children including her grandson Joseph F. daughter in law Debbie, her children, Christopher and Michael, and their children and nieces and nephews. Carmella Mary Rizzo will be remembered by her family and friends as well as anyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Her funeral mass will be Friday July 20,2018 at 11am from Our Mother of Consolation Church- 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave. Phila. Pa.19118 and her viewing will also take place at the church from 10-11am.
The burail will follow after the mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
