Marilyn Ruth Haines Sylvester

1936-2018

Marilyn Ruth Haines Sylvester formerly of Plymouth Meeting was called by the Lord on July 12, 2018 at her daughter’s home, just 12 days after her husband Frank, of 58 years, went to Heaven. She was 81.

Born in Marion, Ohio to Lucille and Chandos Haines, Marilyn is survived by son, Frank of East Norriton and his wife Diane and their children, Evan (Natalie), Eric and Ethan.  Also daughter Lori Ann and her husband Michael Carlin of Marmora NJ and their children, Cole, Reed and Skye.  She is pre-deceased by her parents, brother Max (Aleta), nephew John and brother Richard (Carolyn).

A graduate of Marion Harding High School and Columbus Business College, Marilyn worked for Whirlpool before becoming an airline stewardess for Northwest Orient prior to marrying Frank. She worked 16 years in Montgomery County for District Justice Francis J. Lawrence Sr. and Jr. Marilyn enjoyed games of bridge, gin and mah jongg as well as golf with many close friends.  Whether sitting on the Ocean City boardwalk enjoying French fries and fudge or watching her grandchildrens many activities, Marilyn’s greatest love and joy, especially as Nana, came from time spent with her family.

A member for over 50 years, Marilyn’s Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah United Methodist Church, 527 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill PA  19444. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to Messiah UMC.
