He was a retired District Manager , employed by Factory Mutual Insurance Co. for 37 years. Mr. Barclay was born in Allentown ,Pa. son of the late Thomas Desmond and Lillian (Traynor) Barclay. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Godshall) Barclay who died in 1998. Mr. Barclay served our country as an engineering officer aboard cargo ships in the North Atlantic for three years at sea during WWII and retired as an officer in the US Naval Reserve. He was a graduate of Lansdale High School, class of 1942, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point in 1945. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Wyndmoor. Mr. Barclay is survived by two daughters, Nancy Clark (Charles) of Southport, CT, and Barbara Heiser (Michael) of Ellicot City, MD; and one son, William T. Barclay, Jr. (Carol) of Denville, NJ. He was predeceased by a son, John R. Barclay, in 1987. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and a sister, Corinne Hyatt.
