Obituary of Betty Ann Simon

Betty Ann (Weaver) McNamara, Thompson, Simon, age 69 of Plymouth Meeting PA., died Friday (10/26) in the Mercy Suburban Hospital. She was a Retired Elementary School Teacher employed by Colonial School District and taught for many years at the Whitemarsh Elementary School and for a short time at the former Lafayette Consolidated School and The former Springmill Elementary School. Mrs. Simon was born in Phila., PA, the daughter of the late John and the late Irma Aument Weaver. Wife of the late Richard W. Simon who died in 2010. Betty was a graduate of the former Lankenau School for Girls and Temple Univ. For many years Betty sang in various choirs in the area and loved music in general. She was a member of Saint Peters Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill. For many years she summered in Ocean City NJ. where she also had met her late husband Dick Simon and along with her late husband traveled in the family RV enjoyed boating and fishing. Betty was a long time member of the teachers union PSEA and was known by her family and many friends as kind hearted and a care giver to many. She is survived by one son: Richard A. "Drew" Simon of Plymouth Meeting, PA. niece, Robyn Feely and nephew, Chip Simons Friends may call Friday 11/2/2012 from 10-11am at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 3025 Church Rd., Lafayette Hill, Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham ,Pa. and meeting at the Bell Tower in the park at 10:45am.
