Joseph B. Santaniello Sr., age 83 of Roxborough ,Phila. died Thursday (8/30) in the Chestnut Hill Hospital. He was a Retired Phila. Fireman . Mr. Santaniello Sr. was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late Vito and the late Teresa Vassallo Santaniello. Joe attended Northeast Catholic High School. He was a US Army Veteran and served during WW 2. Joe retired from the Phila. Fire Department as the longest Fireman stationed at Engine 30 at Germantown and Venango and had served as the Batallion Chiefs Aid. He was a proud member of Firefighters Union Local 22. Joe was an avid "handyman" and was known as the go to guy and was known also for his love of cars and will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends. He is survived by Madeline (Giargiari ) Santaniello one daughter: Teresa M. Santaniello two sons: Joseph B. Santaniello Jr., John E. Santaniello (Anne Marie) one sister: Rose Goodwin one brother: Vito Santaniello 4 Grandchildren- Leslie Ann , Gabrielle, Lucia, and Luca, Joe was predeceased by his 2 brothers- Dennis and Charles Friends may call Tuesday 9/4 from 6-8pm at Lownes Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. and Wednesday 9/5/12 from 10-11am at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am in the Saint Philip Neri Church Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Contributions may be made to Phila. Firefighters Local 22 Widow's Fund,415 N. 5TH ST., PHILA.PA.19123.
