Norman A. Corlett, age 87 of Lafayette Hill formerly of King of Prussia died Thursday (6/28) at the Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill. He was a Retired Aircraft Mechanic For Boeing Vertol Division.
Mr. Corlett was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late Walter P. and the late Ella Irelan Corlett.
Husband of the late Alma (Van Olsten) Corlett and the late Dorothy (Deland) Baldwin.
Mr. Corlett was a graduate of Frankford H.S. and was raised in the Mayfair section of Phila. He served our Country during WW2 in the US Army Air Corps division and was a Sergeant 1st Class.
Mr. Corlett was a member of the Saint Matthews United Methodist Church in Valley Forge and was also a member of their 59'ers club and was a former chairman of their memorial committee.
When he was young he enjoyed roller skating and would often compete. He held a private pilot's license for many years for small planes and sea planes.
Norman was a former member of a radio controlled airplane Club in Valley Forge. For many years he volunteered at the National Helicopter Museum in West Chester and The Willow Grove Naval Air Station restoring aircraft.
He is survived by
two daughters: Donna M. Haehl (George) of Severn, MD, Cheryl L. Baker (the Late George) of Norristown, PA
one sister: Doris Buckman of Port Richie, FLA.
