James E. Granger, age 88 of Gwynedd Valley formerly of Lafayette Hill died Sunday (5/13) at his home . He was a Engineer for the former The Former Budd Co.,Catalytic Construction and Raytheon.
Mr. Granger was born in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late Salter and the late Bertha Young Granger.Husband of the late Carol W. (Schuur) Granger.
Jim was a graduate of West Technical H.S. in Cleveland OH. and also graduate from Fenn College/Cleveland Univ.with and degrees in Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. he aslo attended Case School of Applied Science.He then pursued his career in the metal working industry along with casting and the lost wax process and machine design and the robotics industry.
His life long hobby was wood working and carving and also enjoyed his garden.
He was a WW2 Navy Veteran and served as a Naval Aviator.
Jim was very active in his volunteer work and would mentor students at the Montgomery County Vocational Tech School and would often lecture to various groups on Woodworkings as an art form and a hobby.
He was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program , The Pa. Guild of Craftsmen,The National Wood Carvers Assn., The American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Al Koran/Franklin Masonic Lodge in Cleveland OH.
He is survived by
one daughter: Christine G. Townsend (Alan) of Perkiomenville, PA
niece, Bonnie Povilaitis; Step-grandson, Peter Townsend; 2 Great Grandchildren,
predeceased by his brother Edward.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 pm
Burial will be private
