Mary E."Betsy" ( Thompson) Vennema, age 70 of Lafayette Hill PA.formerly of Drexil Hill, died Saturday (10/15) in the Univ. of Pa. Hospital. She was a Retired Domestic Relations Agent For Montgomery County. Mrs. Vennema was born in Phila., PA, the daughter of the late John and the late Dorothy Pierson Thompson. Wife of the late Peter H. Vennema who died in 1994. Betsy was a graduate of the Class of 1959 of Plymouth Whitemarsh H.S. and Ursinas College class of 1963 recieving a degree in English Teaching.She was a former English teacher in Upper Darby. While living in Drexel Hill,Pa. she was an active member of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church along with their choir and bell choir. While residing later with her family in Lafayette Hill she was a member of the Church of Saint Jude and the Nativity and their Vestry and also most recently she became a member at Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Andorra,Phila. She was a member of the W. Norriton Art League along with Rainbow Arts and Crafts in E. Norriton and Whitemarsh Twp. Art Club at the Barn .Her artistic expertise was in water color painting along with sketching. She is survived by two daughters: Laura Vennema-Duus of W.Norriton, PA, (Joe) and Gwydion Stacy Vennema of Bellingham, WASH. one brother: John Thompson of Alabama Friends may call Thursday 10/20 from 10-11am at Saint Mary's Episcopal Church, 630 E.
