Obituary of Frank P. Young

Frank P. Young, age 87 of Phila. formerly of Lafayette Hill died Tuesday (10/11) at Saint Joseph's Villa in Flourtown . He was a Former President Of The F.P. Young Oil Co . Mr. Young was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late Francis P. Sr. and the late Mary Murphy Young Mr. Young was a graduate of North Catholic H.S. and attended Saint Joseph Seminary in Princeton,NJ. He was a WW 2 Army Veteran serving in the Anti -Aircraft Artillery Batallion and participated throughout the European Theator and during the Battle of the Buldge. Over the years he has been involved with the Veterans of The Battle of the Buldge Assn. After the war Frank was immediately involved in the family oil business which was founded in 1895 and was very respected in the Petroleum Industry for his inovative ideas and practices that he had developed and taught for many years. Frank was involved with many Petroleum Assn's in the local , state and national levels and was a past president for his state assn. Franks family said he remarked often that he was at his happiest when his family was around him. He is survived by his wife Therese( Hanlon ) Young three sons: Robert F. Young (Annette) of Drexil Hill, PA, John P. Young (Loretta) of Doylestown, PA, Jim P. Young of Phila., PA one sister: Sarah Stoll of Lower Gwynedd, PA one brother: Joseph Young of Maple Glen, PA 6 Grandcildren , predeceased by siblings- George Young, Mary Jane Kelly, John Young and Elizabeth Dorr. Friends may call Saturday 10/15 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am officiating. Burial will be in the Westminster Cemetery, Balacynwyd. Contributions may be made to Saint Philip Neri Church or Saint Josephs Villa, 100 Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown,Pa. 19031. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
