James Michael Walsh, age 73 of Pawleys Island SC, formerly of Plymouth Meeting Pa. and the Rhawnhurst section of Phila. died Monday (9/26) in the Waccamaw Community Hospital in S.C. He was a retired Senior Program Review Specialist for the US Dept. Of Education and until recently was employed by Willbrook Plantation Country Club, a job he truly enjoyed. Mr. Walsh was born in Phila., PA, the son of William and Catherine (Manley) Walsh . While living in Pawleys Island S.C. ,Jim was a member of the Precious Blood of Christ Church and was also a member of their choir. Jim was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He also was an avid golfer and enjoyed be able to play many of the area golf courses near his home in Pawleys Island. While living in Plymouth Meeting he was a member of Saint Philip Neri Church. Jim and his wife Claire enjoyed taking many trips together and also spending time with their family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Claire (Norrington) Walsh one daughter: Robin Wixted (Joe) of Lafayette Hill, PA. one son: Christopher Walsh (Diane) of Hazlett, NJ one sister: Sr. Cecelia Walsh SMIC one brother: Robert Walsh 6 grandchildren predeceased by siblings-Thomas,John, Esther,Francis,William,Elizabeth and Mary Friends may call Saturday 10/8 from 2-3pm at Lownes Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Jims Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm A traditional Irish Wake will be held following the service at Robin and Joe Wixted's home in Lafayette Hill. Contributions may be made to The precious Blood of Christ Church, 1633 Waverly Rd.Pawleys Island,S.C. 29585.
