Richard J. " Rick" Childs Sr., age 72 of the Spring Mill Village, Lafayette Hill PA.,formerly of Plymouth Mtg. died Friday (9/2) at Spring Mill Village. He worked in the Tool And Dye Division For The Budd Co. of Phila. Rick was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late James and the late Dorothy Burris Childs. Rick was a Life member of the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Co. in Lafayette Hill and was a former Captain of their Fire Police Unit and was awarded Fireman of the Year at one time. He was also a life member of the NRA and very much enjoyed Target shooting and fishing. He was a member of the Clover Rod and Gun Club in Coburn,Pa. Rick and his wife Celine were avid dog lovers and for many years rescued dogs from the pound. Rick also served our country in the US Army Reserves. He is survived by Mary Celine( Lough ) Childs one daughter: Kimberly Miller of Berlin, NJ two sons: Michael Childs of Berlin, NJ, Richard J. Childs Jr. of Coconut Creek, FLA one brother: James Childs of Mohnton, PA 5 Grandchildren., Friends may call Monday 9/12 from 10-11am at Saint Jude And The Nativity Church, 203 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. His Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 am Contributions may be made to Clover Rod and Gun Club, C/O Robert Migash- 46 Vista Dr. po box 347 , Maytown,Pa. 17550-0347. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
