John H. Parkes, age 83, of Phila., PA died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at The Terrace of Chestnut Hill. Mr. Parkes was born December 5, 1933 in Phila., PA. He is the son of the late William and the late Mary (Heister) Parkes. He is the beloved husband of Charlotte (Jones) Parkes.
He served as a Captain in the US Army from 1961-1963 . He was Retired Research Scientist from the University of Penna.
He is survived by his wife: Charlotte (Jones) Parkes and a brother: Alan Parkes.
The funeral will be held 11:30 am on Friday, January 27 at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. 19444 Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 27 from 10:30-11:30am at the Funeral Home.
