Obituary of Robert J Bernstein

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On December 24th 2023, of Flourtown, PA. Beloved husband of Maureen K Bernstein, father of Daniel (Joanna) and Alexander (Megan). Also survived by two beautiful grandchildren, Warren and Calvin.

Robert, Bob to most, grew up in Mount Airy and went to Central High School. He later graduated from Penn State University and remained a lifelong (some might say die hard) fan of their football team. In 1980, he married Maureen and they lived in Flourtown, where they raised their two boys. Bob began his career as a teacher in Philadelphia, then spent time as a small business owner of a vending machine company and later a PetValu before returning to teaching in the last chapter of his career.

Bob loved tennis, going to Phillies games, and cheering for the Eagles. Most summers, he took his family to the beaches at the Jersey Shore and the Outer Banks. He passionately coached baseball at school and for Little League. Always quick with a joke, he will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to an abbreviated Shiva at 60 Grove Avenue, Flourtown PA between 12 and 4:00 on Saturday January 27th, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family asks guests to donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
