Obituary of Memri Theresa Wells

Please share a memory of Memri to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Memri Theresa Wells, of Lafayette Hill, PA (formerly of the world at large), passed away unexpectedly at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on December 21, 2023. Memri Theresa was born in Roswell, NM in 1957 and as the daughter of an Air Force officer lived in Alabama, Arkansas, Okinawa Japan, and Virginia. She moved to Lafayette Hill in 1991 after spending nearly a decade in the Philippines, Alaska, and Arizona.

She attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and both worked and volunteered as a healthcare administrator, EMT, nurse’s aide, and hospice counselor. She was always generous with her support of anyone in need, from driving for Meals on Wheels to becoming an emergency placement foster parent.

Her fighting spirit and love of family carried her through several significant health challenges beginning in 2006. She was an active supporter of on-line Alpha-1 communities and transplant support groups and the zest for life and laughter she brought to everyone everywhere she went was infectious. Throughout it all, she remained a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and as the core of her family, remained gracious, resilient, and strong.

Memri Theresa was predeceased by her father, Harold W. Stoll. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband of 39 years, Brian A. Wells; her mother Virginia M. Stoll, née Liles; her brothers Harold W. Stoll II (and wife Christina), and Timothy J. Stoll (and wife Martina); her son Corey S. Widden (and wife Jennifer), her daughter Shannon N. Wells (and husband Adam); her grandchildren Nick, Matthew, Sam, and Wyatt; her in-laws C. Darryl Wells (and wife Kathleen), and Gail L. LaRue, née Wells; as well as all of her nieces and nephews.

Those of us left behind know she is looking down in anticipation of two soon-to-be grandbabies that she will never have the chance to love and spoil. Nana, we will all make sure they know you and the bright light you spread upon the world.
