Leona H. (Kavcak) Diamond, age 76 of Lafayette Hill, PA died Thursday, November 30, 2017 peacefully at home. Leona was born on April 19, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Harriet (Kowalik) Kavcak. She is the beloved wife of William J. Diamond. Leona is survived by her husband William Diamond of 57 years, and three daughters: Beth Hatfield (Michael), Laura Simpson (Sheldon), and Patricia Hennessy(Kevin); four grandchildren Lindsey Hatfield, Stephen Simpson, Kyle Hatfield, and Anna Simpson. She is the sister to the late Regina (Kavcak) Skowronski and Christine Kavcak. Leona grew up in Philadelphia and attended St. Ladislaus School and Little Flower High School. She worked many years at Chestnut Hill Hospital and then Airgas Inc. where she gained lifelong friendships. Leona was a past member of Whitemarsh Junior Women's Club and served as a Girl Scout Leader and Service Unit Director for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always up for adventures! Camping was a loved pastime with her parents and daughters. She loved taking her grandchildren on day trips. The Philadelphia Zoo and Merrymead were staples as they were growing up. The Philadelphia Flower Show was also an annual highlight. Ocean City, New Jersey was a summer tradition, that started when her three daughters were young, and continued with her grandchildren. That's where she loved sitting on the beach and enjoying the sun! She had a passion for traveling and would jump at the chance to do so. One of her favorite vacations was her cruise with Bill. She enjoyed traveling afar to many horse shows with her youngest daughter, and watching "Little Tom," her boy as she called him, compete. She always looked forward to her annual trip with her sorority sisters from high school, and planning where their next adventure would be! While at home she loved watching and feeding her birds and squirrels, along with caring for all her flowers and plants. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, who she loved to spoil. The family dogs and horses especially looked forward to seeing her and all the treats she would give. Her presence will truly be missed. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 5 at Lownes Family Funeral Home 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, December 4 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, December 5 from 10-11am at Lownes Family Funeral Home.
