Richard Frederick Gross, 72, passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on January 31, 1954, to Gustave and Doris Gross (Durn). He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Diane (Hollingsworth), his loving daughters Jennifer (Michael Allerton) and Vicki (Marty McCarthy), his cherished grandchildren Connor, Brady, Gavin and Michael Allerton and Grace, RJ and Riley Ball, his four younger sisters as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his five brothers.

Together, Rich and Diane built a family that became the center of his life. Above all else, his greatest pride and joy was his seven grandchildren. Nothing made him happier than watching his grandchildren grow, succeed and thrive both in life and on the athletic field. He was their biggest supporter, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on and celebrate their accomplishments. 

He found great enjoyment in gardening and landscaping, creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. His love for his dogs brought constant companionship and happiness to his life. Fall weekends often found him cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State football, teams he followed with great loyalty. When his daughters were young, he dedicated countless hours to coaching their sports teams, whether on the softball field or at the swimming pool, teaching lessons that extended far beyond the game.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Friends and family are invited to call and attend services on Tuesday September 8, 2026. There will be a visitation from 9:00-10:45 amwith services to follow at 11:00 am at The Village Church, 3044 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown PA 19403.
