James Joseph Ward III entered into eternal life on August 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmy was born on July 17, 1954 to James and Florence Ward and spent his childhood growing up in Lafayette Hill, having fun and getting into mischief with his friends.  He attended St. Philip Neri School, LaSalle College High School (where his mom, Florence Ward, worked for many years in the alumni and development office) and St. Joseph University. The bulk of Jimmy’s career was spent in the food service industry. 

A devoted Philly sports fan, Jimmy cheered on the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers.  He loved a jaunt to the Jersey Shore or a weekend trip to South Bend for Notre Dame football. Cooking was a hobby as well.  

Jimmy dearly loved his children, Nick Farina (Liz), Colin Ward (Hannah), Mary Ward and Georgia Ward. He was one extremely proud dad.  His grandchildren Alex, Ryan, Elaina, Mia, James and Mckenna bought him boundless joy!!!  Jimmy was one big kid horsing around with his grands .

James Joseph Ward will be remembered for his quick sense of humor, outgoing personality, kindness and love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and lifelong friends.  He humbly persevered through life despite facing multitudes of health challenges.  

In addition to his cherished children and grandchildren, Jimmy is survived by his two sisters, Mimi Craig (Frank) and Ginner Farrell (Jack) along with nieces and nephews who will miss their funny Uncle Jimmy.

Friends and family are invited to call and to attend mass on Saturday, September 5th, at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA  19444.   There will be a viewing from 9:30-11:00. Mass will follow at 11:00. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA .
