Theresa Anne “Tessie” Galvano, age 42, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2026  with her Mom and brother Donnie by her side.

Tessie will be remembered for her unforgettable laugh, unbreakable spirit, beautiful smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

She had a lifelong passion for sports—both playing and watching them. Tessie attended Neshaminy High School, where she was a talented and promising basketball player. She was also a fiercely loyal New York Giants fan and loved fishing whenever she had the opportunity.

Tessie is survived by her devoted mother and caretaker, Anne Galvano, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; her father, James Galvano, of Levittown, Pennsylvania; her brother Donnie Galvano and Emily Bonsall, of Philadelphia; her brother Jim Galvano, his wife, Lauren, and their children, Ella, Adley, and Jack, of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; her grandmother, Stephanie Barbetti, of Kendall Park, New Jersey; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

She also leaves behind her beloved pup and constant companion, Duck, who was rarely far from her side and brought her comfort, joy, and companionship each day.

Tessie’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, caregivers, and medical professionals who cared for her throughout her illness. The family is especially grateful to the nurses on the 14th floor of Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, as well as Dr. Arthur Huppert and the late Dr. Robert Schwartzman, for the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and care they showed Tessie and her family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00a.m. Please join us in smart-casual attire—and don’t be afraid to wear a little color as we celebrate her life. Suits and formal dresses simply weren’t her style.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tessie’s memory to the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome Association (RSDSA) at www.rsds.org.

Although Tessie’s life was far too short, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is finally at peace, free from pain, and reunited with her loved ones in heaven.
