Thomas Richard Ryan (T.R.), age 70, of Lafayette Hill, PA, passed peacefully the evening of March 6th, 2026, leaving behind enough socks to clothe a small army and enough music equipment to start a dozen different bands. 

T.R. is survived by his sons Matt and Mike; brothers, Sean and Timmy; mother, Helene Nicoletti; step-mother Traute Ryan, step-father Lou Nicolleti, and a giant orange cat named Jagger (also known as “Mr.”). 

He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Ryan and brother Terry Ryan. 

T.R. graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School after escaping the clutches of the Catholic school system. 

He worked for U.S. Roofing for many years which is how he developed a deep disdain for bad drivers after racking up millions of miles on the road. 

He enjoyed many things. Among those things were playing music, listening to music, watching movies, yelling at the TV when Fox News was on, a filet mignon from Del Friscos, the Eagles and Phillies, giving treats to “Mr”, and riding his motorcycle on a warm spring day. 

He did not like unfinished sodas, online shopping, loud music when he was trying to sleep, or Fox News. Did we mention he despised bad drivers? 

He supported his sons unconditionally and without judgement, even if it was Matt’s high school metal band or Mike’s budding music career. He was a constant resource for any car troubles and was always happy to explain extremely basic car maintenance that his sons otherwise should have known already. 

T.R. died in peace having witnessed victories in two World Series’, two Stanley Cups, one NBA Championship, and most importantly, two Super Bowls.

Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to his truly exceptional care team at Fox Chase Cancer who provided a great plan which afforded him the opportunity to enjoy his life the best he could with his time remaining.  

Family and friends can visit with the family on Friday, March 13th, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am, at Lownes Family Funeral Home at 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Following the services at the funeral home, everyone is invited to Brittinghams Pub 640 Germantown Pk, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444
