John B. Rush died at age 72 at home in Fort Washington on February 5, 2026 surrounded by the love of family and friends.  John was a graduate of St. Matthew’s School (Mayfair), Father Judge High School (1971), St. Joseph’s College (1976) and earned his MBA at Drexel University (1982.)  John spent his entire career in real estate in Philadelphia beginning as a sales associate with Michael Singer Real Estate in 1976 and culminating as a Managing Director, Valuation & Advisory Services at CBRE, Inc.  During his 40+ year career he held Pennsylvania real estate sales and broker licenses, was a state certified real estate appraiser, earned the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and was invited to join The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE.)  John was a beloved mentor to many.  He was a trusted and respected colleague and known to have the utmost integrity.  He retired in 2021.

John was predeceased by his parents, John J. Rush, Jr. and Anne (Walsh) Rush.  He was an only child.  John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol, and by his children, Benjamin (Samantha Carola), William, John and Margaret (Nathaniel Liu) and by his grandchildren, Logan, Brielle and Mikayla Rush, and Cecilia Liu.  All will miss his whimsy and his cooking.
