Helga Ledder February 5, 1937- December 30, 2025

Helga Ledder passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2025.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Alfred in 2022.  She is survived by her sons Craig (Lynette), and John (Rebecca), grandchildren Alyson (Shaun), Brian (Jessica), Lindsay (Ryan), and Lauren (Drew), and great-grandchildren Maxine and Elizabeth, and her cousin Ingrid (Dennis) Hyams who was like a sister to her.  Born in 1937 in Ratzebuhr Germany, she moved to the United States as a teenager after the death of both of her parents when she was adopted by her Uncle and Aunt (John and Elisabeth Leise). She quickly learned the English language and spoke English without an accent, being then fluent in two languages. She attended Moorestown Friends High School, and later graduated from Cedar Crest College with a business degree.  She was very athletic and enjoyed playing field hockey, basketball and tennis.    

After college she married Al, whom she met at church.  They enjoyed 62 years of life together.  The two of them loved going to the German clubs and going dancing, embracing their common German heritage.  She loved nature, especially birds and being outdoors, taking walks and hikes.  She was an excellent baker and was known for her many varieties of Christmas cookies which were enjoyed by all.  She was very involved in church activities, sang in the choir, and was also an excellent seamstress and quilter.  She was immersed in her children’s lives, teaching them Christian values, and demonstrating how important they were to her.  After being blessed with her grandchildren, she was so proud she could still get down on the floor and play with them in their activities.

She was greatly loved, and loved greatly, even at the retirement community where she spent her final days.  We look forward to our reunion with her in heaven.

Funeral services are Friday January 9th, 2026 at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.  The viewing starts at 10AM, followed by the service at 11AM.
