Angelo P LaPera Jr Obituary

Angelo P. LaPera, 72, of Lafayette Hill, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born in Philadelphia on March 5, 1953, he was the son of the late Angelo and Rose LaPera.


He is survived by his wife, Christine (Cotter), his daughter, Heather Anne (Scott Hower), and his cherished grandson, Hunter Hower, who lovingly called him “Pop-Pop.” He was predeceased by his son, Mark Anthony. Angelo is also survived by his brother, Michael LaPera, and sister, Frances Phillips.


Deeply committed to his community, Angelo spent many years coaching in the Plymouth soccer, basketball, and baseball organizations. He was an avid reader, a car enthusiast, and a proud member of Local 500. He worked as a tractor-trailer driver with Acme Markets for more than 30 years until his passing.


Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, September 3, from 10:30–11:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Philip Neri Church, Lafayette Hill.


In lieu of flowers, contributions in Angelo’s memory may be made to the Kendrick Recreation Center, 5800 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128.
