Matthew, Mary Beth and Jim, I am sorry the loss of your beloved wife and Mom. Sue greeted me as a new nine holer a few years ago and she continued to say hello and chat when we would run into each other. I commented on her cute outfit and she immediately sent me the link and went it went on sale. I will miss seeing her around PCC everyone who knew her adored her. Sue made her mark on this world one person at a time.
My heart goes out to you and your families. God bless and you will be in my prayers. Sincerely Binka Moore

I only talked to Sue over the phone. I was connected to her through a mutual friend. Sue was invaluable in helping me help a friend whose daughter was severely injured by a drunk driver in Philadelphia. Her family abruptly moved to that city to be with her and Sue took the time to connect me with folks who could do meals for the family. She put alot of thought into it and i am forever grateful for Sue’s help and guidance. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Sue will be sorely missed by every one of her legions of friends. If she called on you to help with a task at either the WSC or the PCC you dare not refuse because you knew well she would not only lead and organize the effort to the last detail but would also be the hardest worker. Over the years I have become genuinely close to her entire family. I know no other persons can truly miss her love more than Matt, Mary Beth and Jimmie, but I assure you I must be a close second. With deep love and affection for a unique, engaging lady, a lady in every sense of the word, I join all the uncountable friends of MarySue Gilet Dougherty who mourn her passing but are very glad we were fortunate to know her, Jerry Quill

Sue was often the team Captain for tennis/paddle. I was often her co-captain. Sue organized and rallied the teams. It turned out my job was to carry her coffee mug. . I gladly followed her orders. We all did. She led, we all followed —- One by one we will all be part of her team in heaven. She will be waiting for us and will welcome us — as usual.
I miss you, Sue. Barb Olson.

Sue was the welcoming face for all new Wiss families, and making sure they improved their skating skills. We are sad to hear of her passing, and wish Matt and the family our thoughts and best wishes. It was a treat coaching Jimmy, and loved his resilience and grit, which I feel Sue helped instill. Thinking of you Matt, and your family.

Matt, Mary Beth and Jimmy, we are deeply saddened by the loss of a very good friend, your wife and mother. Sue was one of the first to welcome the Levins to Wiss, about twenty years ago. She was quite literally a delight to work with and to be around. Tons of energy and always a smile and laugh. Wiss was a better place thanks to Sue. She made a difference with everything she undertook, and will be deeply missed by many.

Sue, in your memory and in your very “do it big or don’t do it all” way, we along with so many have opted for a tree to be planted. It wont just be a tree here or a tree there - but an enchanted forest of trees. They will grow tall and full. They will bend with the winds and change with the seasons, but they will never stop growing and sharing the clean oxygen that you always brought with you. You’ve touched so many with your kindness. Now the forest that is Sue’s Forest will remind so many to be kind, inclusive and giving. XOXOX my paddle/tennis/Wissahickon/PCC/ party friend. I’ll miss you to the moon and back. Deb

Sue and I met in Boston in 1980, bonding over our shared “Southern” experiences. We quickly teamed up to entertain a large, mobile group of friends and family. To quote Cyndi Lauper "Girls just wanna have fun!"
Eventually, we each got married in Boston, sharing the same wedding weekend—though one year apart! And who but Sue, at her own wedding breakfast, would think to get a cake for Mike and me, celebrating our first anniversary?
That was Sue—always thinking of others.
Matt, MB, Jim, please take comfort knowing we are all with you in mind and spirit as we try to emulate Sue’s example for a life well-lived.
Love Jennifer L. and MIchael O.

Sue, a welcoming and loving person, took me in and let me stay at her house while working my summer job at Philly Cricket. Her warmth and caring nature made me feel secure and loved. She spent her mornings teaching me how to make a French press coffee before work, helped with my laundry and showed me her favorite areas around town, all while being young and new to Philly. Her energy and dedication to racquet sports and her friends was incredibly infectious. She will be missed, and my love and prayers go out to her kids and Matt ❤️

The first time I met Sue -- on the tennis court, of course -- we learned within minutes we shared a University of Tennessee connection. As a Vandy alum, I couldn't resist teasing her with the old joke about rednecks turning orange in the fall. She forgave me.
I have many funny texts from her stored in my phone because whenever our escape artist dogs go on the lam, they make a beeline to see Franklin. Her many kindnesses to our family and countless others in so many different ways can't be measured. She embodied the Benedictine maxim: Laborare est orare. Work is prayer.
She will be missed but not forgotten.
