With great sadness we share the news that Peter Anthony O’Neill, Jr., of Brightview Senior Living in East Norriton, PA died peacefully on July14, 2025 at the age of 81. He is survived by his brothers - James (Kate), Dennis (Linda), Charles (Allison), Brian (Gail), his sister, Mary Pat Moyer, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceding in death by his parents Peter A. O’Neill, Sr., and Marion O’Neill Shilling, by his brother, Robert (Peggy) and by his step-father, Elwood Shilling.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill, PA on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Visitation will be held before the mass at St. Philip Neri Church beginning at 10:00 AM.

Peter was born in Philadelphia, PA to Peter and Marion O’Neill. He and his family moved to Whitemarsh in 1954. Peter attended Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School and in 1960 he began working for the school district where he stayed for 50 years. He initially worked at the high school in the food services department washing dishes and as a driver delivering supplies from school to school. In 1989, Peter moved from food services to become a nighttime custodian. He then became the night supervisor custodian at Ridge Park Elementary School until his retirement in 2010. A very dedicated and trustworthy employee, Peter rarely missed a day of work. He thrived on the daily structure and the camaraderie of coworkers. When asked to do anything, his reply was always, “No problem!”

In addition, in his spare time, Peter worked at his father’s ARCO station in Flourtown. Peter was also an usher at St. Philip Neri Church. He loved to bowl and was a member of several bowling leagues. Other hobbies included collecting die cast metal classic cars, watching the Phillies, listening to all types of music, and fishing. Peter was known to his family as a champion napper.
