In Loving Memory of Charlotte Craven
February 3, 1943 - May 27th 2025
Charlotte Craven of Plymouth Meeting, PA. passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Vincent; mother of Kathleen Stella(John); Vincent Jr. (Aimee); Lori Craven (Sanjay); Valerie Carlisle(Gregory). She was mom-mom to 10 grandchildren: Kyle, Matthew, Devon, Daulton, Sophia, Samantha, Kiernan, Riley, Breandan, Joya. She pre-deceases her brother Thomas Glinka(Jean); George and sister Delores Reda(Frank).
Charlotte Craven was a radiant light in this world - a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and a dear friend to all who had the joy of knowing her. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger, only friends she hadn't made yet. Charlotte met her soulmate, Duke, when she was just 15 years old. Their love stood the test of time, and they were married on August 10, 1963. Together, they shared nearly 60 beautiful years of marriage filled with laughter, partnership, and unconditional love before Duke's passing in 2022.
Family was everything to Charlotte. She was the heart of her home and the foundation for her four children - Kathleen, Vinnie, Lori, and Valerie - each of whom carry her strength, generosity, and love forward. Charlotte found deep fulfillment in being a mother, and later, a grandmother. She could always be counted on - whether it was volunteering at school, carpooling to countless after-school activities, or simply offering her listening ear and guiding wisdom. She had a gift in the kitchen that few could match. Charlotte was an adventurous cook who found her joy in new ingredients, international grocery aisles, and spice shops. But her true signature was soup. Every afternoon, her children came home to the aroma of a homemade pot of soup - hearty, nourishing, and made with love - often accompanied by a warm baked goods and always followed by a delicious family dinner. To this day, her children's love for soup is rooted in those beautiful, comforting memories.
Though she battled chronic heart disease, Charlotte never let it define her. She loved staying active - walking the neighborhood, joining group classes, and finding joy in everything from step aerobics to yoga. Her resilience was as remarkable as her positivity.
After Duke's passing, Charlotte moved in with her youngest daughter, Valerie, and her family. In her final year, as her health declined, Valerie became her devoted caretaker, offering the same unwavering love and strength Charlotte had always given to her children. In her final days, it was prayer — especially the rosary - that brought her peace, until she was at last reunited with her beloved Duke.
Charlotte leaves behind a family who adored her, a lifetime of cherished memories, and a legacy of selfless love that will never fade. She will be forever missed and eternally remembered
