It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerhard (Gary) Wareckiy Sr., 79, of Plymouth Meeting. Gary passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2025.

Gary was born on May 13, 1945 to Wasyl and Anna Wareckiy in Germany. After Gary attended Olney High School, he went on to a career in the printing industry where he retired after 40 years.

In 1966, Gary married his childhood sweetheart Marie Schumitzky at St. Mary’s in Philadelphia. Gary and Marie went on to have 3 children, Veronica (Paul Reinbold), Gary, and Natalie, Gary has 7 adoring grandchildren Anna, Ashlyn, Nicholas, Nately, Luke, Wil, and Gary (III) and 2 great grand children Easton and Emerson.

Gary’s greatest joy was being surrounded by his loving family and his Yorkies. Gary could always bring a smile to your face or make you laugh with his witty humor and stories.  He was also a devoted member and alter server at Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Gary will be missed by everyone who knew him.
