Dominick John “Bud” Quinn

95 Years young and married to the love of his life for 70 years

DJQ’s life can be described in just a few words

How can I help you?

Those words were always in his mind and heart. They were not just his words they were his mission.

As a husband, father, grandfather, friend and a man of faith.

As a husband he would not give up on Mary, the love of his life. His enduring caring and love along with the love of his family enabled Mary to live much longer than what the doctors expected.

As a father he was always there to help his sons in any way that was needed. From helping them follow their many different hobbies and activities in their early years and continuing to help as needed while his family grew. .

As a grandfather no one was to miss getting a good education. His support of his grandkids to study and prepare for this was unbelievable. Fun, faith and education were his key points for the lives of his grandchildren. RC racing, fishing, (he never fished a day in his life), new adventures with go carts, driving ranges and the history of America trips. Faith meant rewarding CCD with chopped liver Tuesdays (ask the grandkids about that). Education meant always reading, vocabulary and history.

His love for his new great grandchildren made his heart sing. He would say that all the time while viewing their pictures or enjoying their visits.

As a friend traveling to Canada, Vermont and historical places in the USA.

Faith was never giving up and a pillar to live by. The Hail Mary prayer and Our Mother of Perpetual Help or OMOPH were the mainstays in his life.

Yes, he did other things in his life. He graduated from Roman Catholic H.S., St. Joseph’s University, and Temple University with enough credits for a doctorate.

He served in the US Army in Germany, taught school for 40 plus years, ran the Spruce Lodge Guest House in OC NJ.

Yes, he was the best father and grandfather and not just on Father’s Day, but we are biased.

Thanks to all the caregivers and the special care he received at the Artman home during his stay there and especially his last days.
