Obituary of Jack Mulcahy

Jack Mulcahy, 73, of Ambler, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025.  Born John V. Mulcahy, Jr. in Philadelphia, Jack grew up in Upper Moreland and attended St. John Bosco. He graduated from Archbishop Wood in 1969 and received his BA in English from LaSalle University.

 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Naismith, his sister Rita McGinley, his brother, Daniel Mulcahy and wife, Laura Mulcahy, his step-children, Melissa Schweizer and Nathan Krahn (Amy Lowe), 5 step-grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John V. Mulcahy and Rita Mulcahy (nee Carroll), his sister, Kathleen Mulcahy, and his late wife, Carole Garber-Mulcahy.

 

Jack worked at various jobs, including as a DJ, training coordinator and resume writer, however his first love was writing.  He won several L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Awards and had published short stories in several magazines and compilations.  He loved Ocean City, NJ and spent as much time there as he could.  He was very passionate about human and animal rights, and supported numerous charities.
