Obituary of Sarah P. Keenan

Sarah “Sally” Keenan (née Platt), 82, of the Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill, passed away on March 16, 2025.

Sally was born on June 9, 1942, in Norristown, PA to Mary (Casselberry) and Robert Platt.  She graduated from Norristown Area High School and was a long-time resident of East Norriton Township.  

Sally was the beloved spouse of James “Jim” Keenan for nearly 64 years, and deeply cherished her family.  She was a devoted mother to her 3 sons Robert Keenan (Desra), Donald Keenan (Gretchen), and Greg Keenan (Jodi).  She was sister to the late Robert Platt (Theano) and aunt to Tiffany Steigerwalt Platt and Derek Platt. Sally also treasured her role as “Mom-mom” to Margaret Hasani (Tamim), Rebecca Stephens (Dylan), Sean Keenan (Alena), Caitlin Keenan, Abigayle Coker (Carter), and Brett Keenan, and most recently as great-grandmother to Ruth Hasani. 

In addition to her family life, Sally spent her career working as a dental assistant at Penn Square Dental Associates and as a driver for Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.  In her leisure time, Sally valued moments shared with her family, dear life-long friends, neighbors, and church community.  She had a special fondness for spending time enjoying the outdoors, sipping white wine with frozen grapes and taking hikes and creek walks during the summer months. Her warmth, kindness, humor, and bright smile touched the lives of everyone she met. Although her later years included prolonged health challenges, her unwavering faith allowed her to overcome many setbacks with incredible bravery and grace.   

A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at Advent Lutheran Church on Friday April 4th, 2025.   Visitation with the family will be from 10:00am to 11:00am.  The service begins at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to join Sally’s family to honor her beautiful life.
