Obituary of Flora Van Sciver Sutor

Flora Van Sciver Sutor, age 90, of Waverly Heights in Gladwyne, formerly of Lafayette Hill PA died Sunday, July 10, 2016 . Flora was born April 25, 1926 in Phila., PA. She is the daughter of the late Lloyd and the late Pearl (Ahman) Van Sciver. She was the wife of the late James F.Sutor who died 6/1/2014. Mrs. Sutor graduated Springside School in 1944 and Ogontz Junior College in 1946. In her youth in the Chestnut Hill area, Flora was an accomplished equestrian, riding side-saddle and showing horses at Devon and various locales. With her husband, Jim, she became an avid golfer at the Philadelphia Cricket Club and Sunnybrook Golf Club. Flora was also a professional interior decorator, helping many to furnish beautiful homes. Flora was true to her name, and had lovely gardens at her homes in the Chestnut Hill area. She is survived by two sons- George W."Gary" Helme IV of Los Angelas, CA. and Peter V. Sutor (Barbara) of Erdenheim, PA; Sister of : Ruth Peckmann of Lafayette Hill, PA; and 3 Grandchildren-Elizabeth, Andrew and Stuart. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, July 15 at Saint Thomas Church Cemetery, Camphill Rd. At Bethlehem Pike, Ft. Washington, Pa. . .
