Robert K. Tierney, age 70, of Green Lane, formerly of Whitemarsh Township, died peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Thomas Jefferson Univ. Hospital of Philadelphia. He is the son of the late Robert J. and the late Eleanor (Mulvey) Tierney. He is survived by his wife: Joyce (Mensch) Foesig; two daughters: Susan Duff (Stephen) of Plymouth Meeting, PA., Kathy Junod (Patrick) of Lafayette Hill, PA and one son: Robert Tierney (Loretta) of Drexel Hill, PA; step father of Scott Bergey; Jennifer Foesig and Pam Foesig ( Paul Thomas) Brother of Beth Neenan, Kevin Tierney, Edward (E.J.) Tierney. Also survived by eleven loving grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew. Bob was a graduate of Temple University and served in the U.S. National Guard. Bob was born and raised in New York City and spent his summers on Long Beach Island. Bob was active in many sports in his youth and remained an avid sports fan. He loved spending time at his home on Lake Wallenpaupack with his beloved dog, Riley. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, January 29 at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3104 Main St., Sumneytown, PA. 18084 Calling hours will be Friday, January 29 from 10-11 AM at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Pike County Humane Society, 186 Lee Rd. Shohola, PA 18458.
