John G. Shertz Sr., age 82 of Lafayette Hill PA, died Friday (7/30) at his residence. He was a President Of Systems Inc. Mr. Shertz was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late Edward and the late Cecelia Corkery Shertz. John was a graduate of the Malvern Prep School and the Penna. Military College. He served in the US Army in Japan. He was an active member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and was a Eucharistic Minister. John also was a long time member of the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club. He is survived by his wife- Barbara ( Morris )Shertz three sons: John G. "Jay" Shertz Jr.(Debra) of Plymouth Meeting, PA., Edward W. Shertz MD of Somerset, KN, Michael G. Shertz(Lizabeth) of Blue Bell, PA one sister: Margaret Sullivan one brother: James Ormiston 8 grandchildren- Heather,Trinity,Christtina,Jennifer,Cecelia,Shawn,Michael,Danielle 2 great grandchildren-Kennedy and Ava Friends may call Wednesday 8/4/10 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be private in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Contributions may be made to Saint Philip Neri Building Fund, 437 Ridge Pike,Lafayette Hill,Pa. 19444. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
